PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE OR PAST PROGRESSIVE TENSE

                               PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
                                                    OR
                              PAST PROGRESSIVE TENSE
DEFINITION:-
                          Such verb, which modifies, that the subject was doing some work continuously in past time that is called past continuous tense or past progressive tense.
NOTE:- (1)
                  This tense shows the continuous action of the subject in past time.
EXAMPLE:-
(1)            Aslam was going to the station.
(2)            Anwar was remembering a poem.
NOTE:- (1)
              “Was” and “Were” are the helping verbs to this tense.
NOTE:- (3)
                   “ing” form of the verb is used in this tense.
REMEMBER:-
                       For putting “ing” the same rules and applied, as you have learnt in present continuous tense.

(3)            The boys were playing on the playground.
(4)            My friends were watching the movie in cinema.
(5)            She was drawing a picture on the wall.
INTERROGATIVE
(1)            Was the cat jumping over the wall?
(2)            Was the man riding on the horse?
(3)            Were the boys playing on the playground?
(4)            Were my friends watching the movie in cinema?
(5)            Was she drawing a picture on the wall?

NEGATIVE
(1)            The cat was not jumping over the wall.
(2)            The man was not riding on the horse.
(3)            The boys were not playing on the playground.
(4)            My friends were not watching the movie in cinema.
(5)            She was not drawing a picture on the wall.
INT & NEG
(1)            Was the cat not jumping over the wall?
(2)            Was the man not riding on the horse?
